Registration for the 2022 PowerUp! youth symposium is open

The One Vision One Voice team is pleased to announce that registration for PowerUp! 2022: (Our)STORY youth symposium is now open!

The event will take place virtually on Zoom on February 24 from 1 to 4 PM. PowerUp! is the first Canadian event specifically designed for African-Canadian/Black children and youth in care to provide connections to community, to empower them, and to inspire unity and togetherness for Black youth across Ontario in the child welfare system.

We are excited to gather for an afternoon of empowerment, culture, and celebration! Full event details, including who should register, how to do so, and what to expect on the day are available on our event page.

Staff of Children’s Aid Societies and Indigenous Child and Family Well-Being Agencies should support young people they work with to register. Registrations are encouraged before February 4 so that youth will receive their swag bag ahead of the symposium.

Also, in the lead up to PowerUp! the OVOV team will be posting updates and Black History Month content on our social media platforms and the PowerUp! website. Follow along on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to stay engaged and in the loop.

A special thanks to the PowerUp! planning committee for all their hard work and guidance in planning this year’s symposium. Any questions about the PowerUp! youth symposium or the OVOV program can be directed to onevisiononevoice@oacas.org.
