Ontario’s Children’s Aid Societies and Indigenous Child and Family Well-Being Agencies Continue to Support Children, Youth, and Families during COVID-19 Pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the commitment of Ontario’s Children’s Aid Societies and Indigenous Child and Family Well-Being Agencies to the most vulnerable children, youth and families in our communities is unwavering.

Each organization in Ontario is continuing to offer support, which is tailored to the needs of each community. Children’s Aid Societies and Indigenous Child and Well-Being Agencies are using the most up-to-date advice from Public Health Ontario. They are taking the necessary steps to help protect the health and safety of staff and those in their care.

Please be assured that child welfare agencies are continuing to deliver on their mandate to provide child protection services and to support children, youth, and families.

OACAS, in partnership with the Association of Native Child and Family Services Agencies of Ontario (ANCFSAO), is working to ensure that each organization has the most current information and resources they need so they can continue to offer critical support services while taking precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.

During this pandemic, we are working harder than ever to ensure we act with inclusivity, openness and respect. If you are concerned about the well-being of a child in your community, please contact your local Children’s Aid Society or Indigenous Child and Family Well-Being Agency immediately.

We are grateful for our strong partnership with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services and other government agencies. We are working together to have a coordinated response to address social services pressures.

We want to thank Children’s Aid Societies and Indigenous Child and Family Well-Being Agencies’ professionals across Ontario for their commitment, passion and dedication during this unprecedented time.
