Meet the Director

Jeanette LewisJeanette Lewis is the Executive Director of the Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies, a position she has held since February 2000.  Prior to coming to the OACAS, Jeanette served in various children’s services agencies, in positions including executive director of a large multi-site, multi-service children’s mental health center, treatment director in a children’s mental health setting, and residential services director in a clinical agency.

In addition to these leadership and administrative roles, Jeanette is a professional social worker who spent many years on the front line as a clinician in marriage and family therapy. 

Jeanette’s academic credentials include a Master of Social Work degree, a Diploma in Health Care Administration, and a Master of Business Administration degree. 

Jeanette supplements her academic qualifications with advocacy and volunteer board activities.  She has served on many boards, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ontario, Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, Hagerman Corners Community Housing, Children’s Mental Health Ontario, Lutherwood, the Trillium Foundation for Youth, and the Ontario Association of Marital and Family Therapists.  She is currently a board member of the Child Welfare League of Canada.
