Clark Bursary Program Now Accepting Applications from Youth In and From Care

OACAS is excited to announce that the Clark Bursary Program is now accepting applications!

The Clark Bursary Program provides financial awards to young people from the child welfare system pursuing post-secondary education, employment, or skills development.

The program started in 1989 through a generous donation from Ron and Nancy Clark. After more than thirty years, the program was refreshed in 2021 to make the application process easier and to include more young people.

Eligible youth can apply for one of three awards: a one-time bursary, a multi-payment bursary, or a graduation bursary. There is no deadline to apply. Applications are accepted year-round.

Eligible youth must be

  • a current or former youth in care in Ontario
  • between the ages of 16 and 30
  • enrolled in or graduating from a college, university, trade school, or an apprenticeship program OR seeking support with employment or training related costs
